Atlanta is a great place to meet other sneaker heads since the city is packed with sneaker boutiques and shop owners throwing small parties almost every weekend.
If you’re looking to make some new connects while attending A3C, we got you covered with five simple tips that will help you do that.
Bring your A game
You need to step your game up if you’re looking to get noticed during your presence in Atlanta. The city loves high fashion and everyone is up to date with the latest releases so if you want to connect with other sneaker heads bring your best pair during A3C.
Obviously, this involves a lot of risks since you’re facing a 35,000 attendance this year so you bring a spare pair if you plan on doing some walking.
What better way to interact with other sneaker heads than paying a visit to the local sneaker boutiques. Atlanta is packed with cool places where you can shop for kicks and most of the owners throw small gather-ups on a weekly basis.

Use social media
This is probably the easiest way to find the best events in town. Twitter and Instagram will provide all the help you need to attend sneaker parties or to find other people that are looking to connect. Track down relevant hashtags and sneaker locations within the area.
Attend the panels
A3C is all about fun and games but you can also do some serious networking while attending the festival. Bloggers, Internet celebrities, entrepreneurs, visionaries, music producers, and a lot of rappers are expected to make a presence in Atlanta this year and among them you should be able to find other sneaker heads, just like you.
If you’re looking to come up with a business of your own that involves sneakers, attend the A3C panels to meet the right people. You will also be able to find useful information about digital marketing, blogging, and pretty much everything that works in 2016.
Be social and compliment people but remember, don’t harass anyone.
Most sneaker collectors are into sports so the best way to meet a shoe fanatic is on a play ground. Atlanta has a lot of places where you can enjoy a good run or play basketball so if you find yourself in the mood for sports, Central Park shouldn’t pass under your radar. Located in the heart of Atlanta, this place has a serious reputation among ball players, and according to locals, you should be able to see at least 15-20 people ready to play at any given day or night.
Piedmont Park is a great place to enjoy a good run. Judging by the location, you will get to experience one of the best places in town even if you’re out for a walk or a quick lunch. In Piedmont you will see a lot of people hanging around, running, cycling or even playing basketball thanks to Converse, Julius Erving, and the City Hall. The park got funded for a basketball court back in 2011 and now it’s a top location in the city to shoot some hoops.
If the weather is not friendly during your stay at A3C, you can visit an indoor location to practice sports. Run N Shoot has some of the best dance studios in the cities, six basketball courts, a track, a weight room, and several other facilities as well. The best thing about this place is that you can get in everywhere for under $10.
