Keyboard Jockeys: Lay Off the Internet and Get Out and Take Action!

Some Black Men allow their internet and smartphone activities to dominate their existence to the point that they have a non-existent love life, sex life, and social life

If you read my article from last Monday, you are now already familiar with the concept of ‘Black Incels.’

If there is one label or title that many times goes hand-in-hand with the category of Black Incels, it would be the category of “Keyboard Jockeys.”

THE INTERNET AGE HAS CREATED A HIGH NUMBER OF ‘KEYBOARD JOCKEYS’ IN THE MANOSPHERE

If you are a single heterosexual man, answer these three questions honestly:

1)    How many hours per day and per week do you spend posting on social media and internet message boards and discussion forums?  More than six hours per day?  More than twenty-five hours per week?

2)    How many hours per day to you spend listening to audio podcasts and/or video podcasts, posting comments in the chat room or comments section?  More than six hours per day?  More than twenty-five hours per week?

3)    How many hours per day or per week (particularly on Thursday evenings, Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays) do you spend actually socializing with members of the opposite sex?  Two hours per day, each day, between Thursdays and Sundays?  Three hours per day during the same time period?  Four hours per day during the same time period?  More?

If you average 25+ hours or more per week involved the activities of category #1 and category #2 above, but you average zero hours involved in the activities of category #3, something is wrong with your love life, sex life, and overall social life.  Your social skills are going to be severely underdeveloped.

ABSORBING KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM IS GREAT, BUT NOT IF YOU ARE NEVER APPLYING THAT KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM TO REAL-LIFE ACTIVITIES

As a Book Author and Professional Dating Coach, if there is one thing that is very annoying and frustrating to me is when I have a (male) client who tells me that he has read all of my eBooks and/or paperbacks, or he informs me that he has listened to all of my audiobooks … but yet, these same men rarely if ever take action to introduce themselves to new women of interest.

This is the problem with a lot of men who are referred to as ‘geeks’ and ‘nerds.’  These men are so obsessed with the accumulation of intellectual knowledge and wisdom that it usually comes at the expense of fully developing their social skills with members of the opposite sex.

Personally, I love to socialize and interact with as many women as humanly possible.  Among other reasons, it helps me become better at ‘reading’ women’s facial expressions and body language signs & signals.  The more women you interact with face-to-face, the more you will be able to identify patterns in their conversation and their non-verbal behavior.

MAKE A DECISION TO SPEND NO MORE THAN TWO HOURS PER DAY ON THE INTERNET EACH DAY FOR AT LEAST ONE FULL WEEK; INSTEAD, GET INVOLVED WITH SOME LOCAL SOCIAL ACTIVITIES

There are fifty-two weeks in each calendar year.  Surely, as a single heterosexual man, you can find it in yourself to keep your time spent on the internet at a bare minimum for at least ONE of those 52 weeks.

Your entire free time should never be spent within the confines of your own residence on a day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month basis.  You will have no balance as a human being.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION IS OVERRATED … AND EVEN DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR MENTAL and PHYSICAL HEALTH

Refer back to my past article about the excessive prevalence of young Black men over-using various forms of electronic communication with women (and other men as well).

How can you learn how to maintain direct eye contact with people via the internet or via your smart phone?

How can you learn the subtle nuances of sexually provocative conversation and erotic dirty talk with women if you only communicate with women via the internet or via mobile text messages?

How can you overcome your fear of rejection if you are always avoiding rejection altogether?

How can you lose weight and get your physique in shape if all you do each day is post on social media and watch YouTube videos from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed?

How can you improve upon your bedroom skills (let’s say, you’ve already mastered the art of masturbating to internet porn) if you never invite any women over to your place?

Fast forward to the age of 50, 55, 60, or 65+.  How will your life look if you continue on the path you are on right now?

GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Get out of your house, apartment, townhouse, or condominium.  Explore some of your local activities that allow for human interaction.  Travel from time to time to other cities and other countries.  Join a health and fitness club so that you can keep your physique in tip top shape.  Build a small group of male friends who you can bond with and share ideas and social activities with.

Most importantly, cut back on the amount of time you spend posting on social media and the internet in general.  The reality is, you cannot exchange orgasms with your laptop computer.  Marinate on that and refuse to remain a ‘keyboard jockey.’
