NBA champion Shannon Brown got himself into a bit of an odd situation a few days ago when he opened fire towards some guests during an open house visit in Tyrone, Georgia. The 34-year-old who allegedly pulled his fire arm and shot towards two people, has won two titles with Kobe Bryant’s 2009 and 2010 Lakers lineup.
A Tyrone Police Department spokesperson says the alleged victims called at around 9:45 PM claiming earlier in the day, Brown had fired rounds at them in a “for sale” home mixup gone extremely wrong. The police spokesperson says that the two individuals were out searching for houses in the Tyrone, GA area when they saw one with a “For Sale” sign on it.
Officers say the two people entered through an open gate and when they got to the door, they were told to come in and check out the property. After the individuals were inside, Brown apparently confronted them for doing so but ultimately agreed to let the couple off the property unharmed. However, the ex NBA player decided to fire 5 or 6 shots as they were preparing to leave.
The spokesperson also mentioned that when police came to investigate, they found one shell casing in the area and eventually arrested the former NBA player for aggravated assault. Shannon Brown who bonded out of jail on May 4, was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 2006 NBA draft. He played in the league from ’06 to ’14 and finished his career with an average of 7.6 points per game. Here’s a clip of his best plays from the Lakers era.
