After Virgil Abloh made a blast during his Paris Fashion Week appearance for Louis Vuitton, the North American designer’s imprint OFF-White decided to debut another sneaker release with Nike.
After the European fans have seen an exclusive release for the all-White Air Jordan 1, OFF-WHITE and Nike are getting ready to release a collaborative edition for the Off-White x Nike Air Max 97. The sneaker will be part of the second generation of Virgil Abloh’s collaborative movement with the Swoosh brand while being based on a Grey version with a rainbow gradient Swoosh, and a Black iteration with a contrasting White Swoosh.
The new editions are extremely similar with the previous ones, however a new White zip-tie hangtag appears to be in the mix to complement the fresh color palette designed by OFF-WHITE. Rumor has it that both releases will hit retail sometimes mid November this year. No word on the price range just yet but we promise to keep you updated as soon as we find new information. Until then check out a detail look with the kicks above and head on to the comment section to share your thoughts on the new Off-White x Nike Air Max 97.
Virgil had the following to say about his Nike partnership:
“What we’re talking about here is larger than sneakers, it’s larger than design culture. It’s nothing short of state-of-the-art design. These 10 shoes have broken barriers in performance and style. To me, they are on the same level as a sculpture of David or the Mona Lisa. You can debate it all you want, but they mean something. And that’s what’s important.”
Also, don’t forget to check out two previous releases coming from OFF-WHITE and Nike: the OFF-WHITE x Nike Zoom Fly Black and the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Force 1. Currently reselling at $1000 plus, both kicks are rumored to face a re-release for the wider public so stay tuned as we’ll updated you on that news as well.
