Top 10 sneaker releases in 2016

Another year, another sneaker; but as years pass by it seems is going to be: another year, another 10.000 models of sneakers as brands keep coming with new material while also launching retro versions and new colorways for older models almost weekly. It’s no surprise that three big names are always seen on these lists, or at the top of them: Adidas, Nike and Jordan. Here is a list of 10 sneakers released this year, and no, not only from the above mentioned brands.

10. Air Jordan x OVO 10 Black
What other way to celebrate October’s Very Own than have a nice pair of Air Jordan with the signature look. The sneakers are set in premium leather and the you just can’t take your eyes off that crystal clear black finish.

9. Rihanna x PUMA Fenty Trainer
This collaboration represents Rihanna’s first introduction in the sneaker world as PUMA Women’s Creative Director. The “Creeper” model had such a big success that it snatched the crown from Kanyes Yeezy Boost and became the “Shoe of the year” in Footwear News’s opinion. Fur slippers are just a bonus to the collection.

8. Under Armour Curry MVP Pack
Stephen Curry had the two best seasons of his life and what other way to celebrate that, than with a signature pair sneakers fit for an MVP. Under Armour stepped the game up as “The Chef” received an MVP pack consisting of 2 limited edition pairs that celebrate his back-to-back MVP seasons

7. Nike Kyrie 2 “Krispy Kream”
This collaboraction between NIke with Kyrie 2 shoe and Krispy Kreme donuts”s exclusive colorway was extremely well received by the public. This limited sneaker was available only in limited quantities in specific locations and the pair was advertised with Krispy Kreme truck which sold them just like icecream in the neighbourhoods.

6. Gosha Rubchinskiy x Reebok Phase One Pro
The beauty sits in the simpless of this shoe. It has been created in grey, black and white colorways with the logo of the designer being orange on all pairs and written with cyrillic letters. This special take on the Phase One Pro sure got the attention it deserved.

5. Air Jordan XII “OVO White”
Whenever October’s Very Own and Jordan team up, everybody knows it’s going to be something special. Just finished with OVO Jordan X releases, the XII have been one of the most annticipated pair of sneakers this year due to the popularity of both brands.
Now that Jordan Brand has finished off the “OVO” Jordan X releases, it’s finally time to drop the XIIs.

4. Adidas Yeezy Boost 750 “Grey/Gum”
The popularity of this shoe is incredible. It almost sold out instantly when it came out and the only difference from the normal Yeezy Boost is a grey upper and a glow-in-the-dark sole like the Yeezy’s. The reselling prices are also going “cray” on this one.

3. Air Jordan IV “White/Cement”
Usually people tend to avoid white sneakers and white Jordans especially but this is the exception to the rule. The pair was retailed at 220$ but this is a fact that did not matter for the Jordan fans as they know, quality over quantiy is the motto used in building this beauties.

2. Nike Air More Uptempo
It’s really amazing that despite the sneaker’s old, aging look, it got very much love on the 2016 re-issue. It really takes the owner back in time, to the 90’s graffiti and pop art whit the aestethics on it. The also was released with new colorways.

1. Adidas NMD R1 Vintage White
This shoe struck like lightning on the market as no one expected it to become Adidas’s next big thing. Designed by the same man who was behind Kanye’s Yeezy line, Nick Galway, the NMD R1 features a Primeknit upper and Boost sole. Lots of colorways for this model have been released this year and the Vintage White is one of the best.
